Since 2011 he has acted as an Inclusive Finance Advisor, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. There he was responsible for the capacity building of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and Saving and Credit Cooperatives and Unions. Furthermore he developed various value chains by linking actors together and assisting MFIs in designing financial mechanisms and products. Furthermore, Harm developed guarantee schemes to link commercial banks to MFIs and to solve liquidity shortages of MFIs, smallholder farmers and cooperatives.
Harm applied for the job because he wants to focus more on linking farmers and cooperatives to viable value chains, the focus of Agriterra to a business oriented approach appealed to him. Harm going to live in Vietnam and will built a strong partner portfolio in Vietnam. Harm is confident that he will succeed due to his experience, dedication and enthusiasm.
